Catch the rivercat to Parramatta ( you may need to change at Rydalmere). Follow the scenic path along the river "Harris park heritage trail"
Visit historic building like "experiment Farm" , where James Ruse - ( i am a desendant of him) grew the first successful crops / farm for the first fleet colony. Old Govt house is located in Parramatta Park. Parramatta Park is fantastic . Follow the coloured river walk reading the plaques about colonial early days. You cannot get up the stairs near the Tourist info centre so go back and cross over the small footbridge up the road and around to "Church" st where there are lots of cafe's , cross the 1839 sandstone Lennox bridge and follow the ramp next to the "riverside theatre" along the river past the weirs . Explore the old dairy & Govt House .
